What does the service cover?
MV line design
Electrical and mechanical engineering of overhead and underground lines.
Short spans and shared supports
Dedicated design-basis, site-plan, duct, pole/crossarm, single-line and quantity items for these arrangements are retained.
Drawings, calculations and deliverables
Facility information form
Design basis including line purpose, name, conductor size, circuit count, length, ice-load zone, support/insulator types, connection and route rationale, and project-specific calculations.
Plan and profile
Plan and profile at horizontal 1/2000 and vertical 1/500 or 1/400 according to conductor type, marking angle points and terminal supports.
Route and site plans
A 1/25000 route plan with support and angle-point coordinates; supplementary 1/1000, 1/2000 or 1/5000 connection/site plans for lines under 1 km.
Cable laying drawings
Cable laying at 1/1000 or 1/2000 on planning, cadastral or surveyed bases, with duct type, cable characteristics, lengths and connection nodes.
Cable ducts and special crossings
Scaled duct and special crossing details based on cable characteristics, circuit count and cable arrangement.
Pole and crossarm selection schedule
Pole and crossarm types, chainages and spans, design ranges, angles, crossings, conductor/insulator arrangements and leg details.
Initial and final conductor sag
Initial and final sag, with maximum sag values at 5° temperature intervals across the critical range for the ice-load zone and conductor characteristics.
Principle single-line diagram
A principle single-line diagram showing all nodes and loads from the main supply substation to the connection point.
Voltage drop, power loss and thermal checks
Voltage drop, power loss and conductor thermal calculations considering every load between the supply substation and the connection point.
Insulator swing calculations
Weight-span and wind-span relationships for suspension supports, with calculation records for special support arrangements.
Short-circuit calculations
Equivalent impedance of circuit elements up to the calculation point and short-circuit calculations for underground cable lines.
Pole strength, swing and clearance checks
Force and strength checks for special supports or individually determined design ranges, conductor swing diagrams and overhead clearance calculations.
Special conductor electrical calculations
Resistance, magnetic flux, inductance and reactance where standard calculations do not cover the arrangement, supplying inputs for voltage drop and power loss calculations.
Bill of quantities
A bill of quantities covering materials, installation, removal and reinstallation items in the design.
Material schedule
Support types, quantities and weights; suspension/tension sets, insulators, conductor types/lengths/weights, surge arresters, marker balls and warning plates.
